1) TITLE: Around the World in Eighty Days is an adventure novel by the French writer Jules Verne. In the story, Phileas Fogg of London and his newly employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a £20,000 wager set by his friends at the Reform Club.

3) Characters: The main characters in the story are Phileas Fogg as the protagonist, Passepartout as his personal servant, Aouda as the Indian princess, Detective Fix of Scotland Yard, Captain speedy, Sir Francis Cromarty and other members of the Reform Club.
4) THEME/STORY/SUMMARY: The theme and plot of the novel revolves around Fogg‘s journey. At the end when Fogg wins the wager, he did not earn enough monetarily but the experience, the friendship and loyalty of Passepartout, the love of Auoda is his real victory.
5) PLANNING & PRESENTATION: Jules has divided the novel into Chapters;
making is easier for readers to understand the sequence and easily jump from one scene to another. Each characters has been aptly described in a way to create an everlasting image in the minds of readers. There are many hair raising incident while Fogg embarks his journey which is very precisely drafted out. Jules, has put a romantic angle of Fogg and Auoda which even makes it more interesting. The Best is the climax where everybody is waiting for Fogg to appear and before the clock struck quarter to nine- Boom! Fogg appears in a hero-like manner, making the reader cheer and feel excited and clap at his entry.
6)SPECIAL FEATURE: The special feature of this novel is the protagonist, Phileas Fogg, whose calm, cool and subtle nature makes him more attractive. The conveyance used by Fogg to travel is worth reading. It makes the reader just engrossed with each character and the story. Jules, have beautifully,expressed the importance of - "time" in the extract, leaving sufficient space for each character to build their own identity in our minds
7)MESSAGE: The ultimate message is that no one can control time; time will work the way it wants to work, and humans are at its mercy
8)MY OPINION: In the end it can be said a very good novel with well thought out characters and event. Overall, this story is a memorable adventure novel, Must read! . I give 4.5 out of 5 rating for this book.
